The House

The kitchen is very well equipped and has granite worktops, a dishwasher, oven, microwave, induction hob, fridge freezer, and the large island in the centre of the kitchen also acts as additional seating with two bar stools.

The utility room next to the kitchen has a washing machine. Next to the utility room, there is also a downstairs WC.

The dining area off the kitchen seats up to ten at the Chinese carved glass top table, and the generously proportioned, comfortable living room area has two huge sofas and an armchair, providing plenty of space to relax and enjoy the 42” flatscreen TV (UK channels) enhanced with sound deck.

There is an attractive wood-burning stove for the winter months. There is also a DVD player, Bose docking station, WiFi and a Nintendo Wii, and a small reading/library area is set under the stairs, all for your use.

Up the stairs via the stunning hand-made oak staircase, you will find the master bedroom with a super king-size bed, a wardrobe and chest-of-drawers. The second bedroom has another king-size bed and a double wardrobe, and a Juliet balcony overlooking the pool, garden and views beyond. There are two further bedrooms, each with imposing twin beds and wardrobes.

The 2 bathrooms offer very different experiences – one being a modern walk in shower room with a WC, basin and large shower; the other has a beautiful roll top bath overlooking the vineyards, with matching pedestal sinks and a balcony with vineyard views.

The original floor tiles have been preserved and retained throughout the upstairs hallway, landing and bedrooms, adding to the beauty and authenticity of the property.

One of the features that makes this property so special is its 85m2 first floor Moroccan inspired terrace decorated with two rattan sofas, coffee tables and further Moroccan seating and lighting, offering spectacular views across the fields towards the 11th century chateau and back to the mountains. It is a wonderful spot to catch the late afternoon sun and is particularly impressive at sunset. The terrace is surrounded by attractive waist-high wrought-iron fencing so is child-friendly.

Also outside, there is a 9m x 4m pool surrounded by an irrigated lawn, mature trees (including apricot and fig which are delicious freshly picked for breakfast), a south-facing wall with beautifully trained roses, and many flowering shrubs. There is also an outdoor seating area for 8 people and a Weber barbecue. The pool and garden are accessed from the kitchen through enormous bespoke-crafted French windows and also from stairs leading down from the terrace.

The gravelled driveway offers plenty of secure parking.
